We flew out of San Francisco a short time ago for the 75-minute flight to 'Vegas. For the first time ever, we've been able to access the Internet in-flight. It's excellent. It ought to be that you can always do this.

Disney's California Adventure
Today, we visited Disney's California Adventure, just opposite Disneyland within Disney Park. Like yesterday, we followed a map around the place, and took in the sights. It's Father's Day in North America and in the UK. Many Disney employees wished me a Happy Father's Day. Jean sent a message to her own Dad in Wales.
We went on lots of rides again. The first was the Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure, featuring Ariel and all her friends. We also went on the massive ferris wheel, which bears a large Mickey Mouse face on the side. The Gondolas attached to the ferris wheel were different to all others I've ever seen. They swing back and forth to the motion of the turning wheel, adding an element of excitement. Jean didn't like it. The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail featured a rope bridge, requiring walkers to tread the unsturdy rope high above the ground. Jean didn't go on it. Afterwards, we went on California Screamin', a tamer roller coaster than the Ghost Rider at Knott's Berry Farm, but one which still succeeded in making me unwell for about an hour. We also went on Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, another was Luigi's Flying Tires, and another was the Radiator Springs Racers, which Jean went on alone.
My favourite ride in the whole park so far was Soarin' Over California. In this ride, riders are strapped into seats which then rise up in front of a very large simulator. The simulator then takes you on breathtaking flights over many parts of California. It's like you really are flying - over the tree tops, over snow-covered mountain peaks, over the city of Los Angeles, past birds, hang gliders and people playing golf. Flying over Yosemite, we could smell the pine trees. Zooming through the Napa Valley, the aroma of the orange trees wafted skyward. If you've always wished you could fly, this is the ride for you.
The ride finished off above night-time LA, travelling into Disneyland. Above the Sleeping Beauty's castle, we flew into the spectacular nightly fireworks display, celebrating the end of another glittery day in this wonderful part of America.
