On Saturday, we visited Disneyland. Yesterday, we visited the Disney California Adventure. Today, we did a bit of both.
In Disneyland, we took a short train tour, passing through Adventure Land, Frontier Land and Tomorrow Land. We saw the Grand Canyon and then went back in time to the time of the dinosaurs. We headed into Adventure Land and took the Jungle Cruise, seeing various African wild animals. I climbed Tarzan's tree house, and later we went on the Indiana Jones ride, a very enjoyable bumpy car ride passing through dark caves.
We then crossed over into the Disney California Adventure. We headed to the Radiator Springs Racers. Here, riders ride six to a vehicle. This particular ride features the car characters from the Cars movie. Riders are taken through a series of exhibits and delights showing these characters. Then, two vehicles are lined up together at a starting point, which race each other at high speed through a barren, rocky landscape. When queuing up, we knew it would be quicker if Jean and I took the 'singles' line (so, not wishing to join the ride as a couple). When we reached the front of the ride, Jean was told to go to a given waiting point, and I went to another. We expected to join separate vehicles and not see each other again until we met at the exit. We did join separate vehicles, but as luck would have it, we ended up racing each other through the high-speed part of the ride. We liked the ride so much, we lined up again.
We had one more go on the Soarin' Over California, my favourite (see blogpost 'Disney California Adventure').
We headed back to our hotel early to do some washing. The laundry facilities are quite good. Jean put a load on and later put the load into the dryer. I came to collect it all, only to find that some idiot had taken our clothes out of the dryer when still quite wet, dumped our clothes in a washing machine, and proceeded to use the dryer for themselves!
